The Constellation They Became

Some friendships arrive gently and pass with time, fading like footprints in the sand. Theirs was never meant to be that kind of story. From the moment their lives began to intertwine, there was a strange gravity pulling them toward the same direction—as if fate itself had already written their names beside one another long before they understood what it meant. They grew up sharing dreams too large for their circumstances, daring each other to imagine futures that most people would call impossible. Years later, when the world would finally recognize the name Xingchen Media Group, people would speak about success, strategy, and ambition. But the truth of its origin was far quieter than that. It began with four friends who simply refused to walk their paths alone.

Four Friends and the Rise of Xingchen Media Group

Long before Xingchen Media Group (星宸传媒集团) became a major name in China’s entertainment industry, it began with four childhood friends from Chengdu: Xu Zhenyu, Lin Yanshu, Lin Zhikai, and Yang Mingze.

The four of them had grown up in the same community, attending the same schools and spending most of their childhood together. Their personalities were different, yet they complemented each other in ways that became increasingly clear as they grew older.

Zhenyu was the strategist. Even as a teenager, he liked studying how industries worked and how companies expanded. Lin Zhikai had a natural talent for organization and project management, often taking the lead whenever their group needed to plan something. Yang Mingze was fascinated with media technology and broadcasting, paying attention to how information and entertainment reached audiences.

And Yanshu was always the storyteller. While the others were drawn toward structure and industry, she focused on narrative and emotion. Her early writing slowly gained attention during her university years, and by the time the group began planning their business, she had already started building a reputation as a promising young author.

In their twenties, the four friends realized they had each entered different parts of the same industry. China’s entertainment world was expanding, but it was also fragmented. Production companies, broadcasters, investors, and creative talent often operated separately, making large projects difficult to coordinate.

Zhenyu proposed an idea that would eventually shape their careers: instead of building a single studio, they could create a holding company capable of connecting multiple sectors of entertainment under one structure.

From that vision, Xingchen Media Group was established. The company was designed to oversee a wide range of entertainment sectors, including film production, distribution, media investment, broadcasting partnerships, music, and content management. Each of the founders naturally assumed a role that matched their strengths.
